How much does a Corian washbasin cost?
Corian washbasins and vanity tops start from ₹900 per sq ft of Corian surface used. The final price depends on the size of the counter, the shape and depth of the basin, the edge, any backsplash and how many basins there are.
A basin moulded into the top as one piece uses more material and more work than a flat counter with a cut-out for a ready-made basin, so it costs more for the same counter size.
Worked example: a single vanity top
Take a vanity counter 4 ft long and 1.5 ft deep. 4 x 1.5 = 6 sq ft. At ₹900 per sq ft, the flat top starts from 6 x 900 = ₹5,400.

What basin shapes are possible in Corian?
Rectangular and oval basins are the most common. A square basin suits a modern bathroom. A long trough basin with two taps works for a shared family bathroom or an office wash area.

Why choose a one-piece basin and vanity top?
When the basin and the top are one piece, there is no rim and no gap between them. Soap, toothpaste and water have nowhere to collect, and one wipe cleans the whole surface. This is one of the main practical reasons to choose Corian for a washbasin.
You can still choose a separate ceramic or steel basin if you prefer. We cut the counter to fit it and finish the edges of the cut-out.
What size should a vanity top be?
Size the top to the cabinet below and the space between the walls. A single basin needs some counter on each side for soap and a toothbrush holder. Two basins need more length so two people can use them at once.
Check the depth against the door swing and the passage in front, especially in a small bathroom. If space is tight, a wall-hung counter with a shallow basin keeps the floor clear and easy to mop.
Is Corian good for bathrooms?
Yes, for most homes. It is non-porous, so water does not soak in and the area around the tap does not swell. It stays clean with mild soap and a soft cloth.
Two cautions. Hard water leaves white scale around taps if it is left to dry, so wipe the top dry after use. And avoid strong acid cleaners, bleach-based toilet cleaners and abrasive pads, which can mark the surface. Hair dye, nail polish remover and hot styling tools can also leave marks, so keep them on a tray.
Washbasins for offices, clinics and shops
Longer wash counters for offices, clinics, restaurants and showrooms are made in sections and joined so you cannot see or feel the joint. Several basins can be moulded into one counter. The non-porous surface is easy to wipe, which suits places that are cleaned many times a day.

Confirm the tap model and whether it mounts on the counter or the wall. Confirm the waste position and the cabinet size. Ask whether the basin is moulded in or fitted separately, which edge and backsplash are included, and whether fitting and sealing at home are part of the price. Ask how scratches and stains can be repaired later.
